Heads up that these are actually the words of George Sand, which were quoted years later by Champfleury in the introduction to his book of 1857, Le Realisme. (pp.22, Romanticism and Realism, Charles Rosen and Henri Zerner, 1984).
I would love to find the original work from which Champfleury pulled from. Please post if you find it and I will try to do the same.
